Among the many sweet memories I have of my hometown Isfahan, strolling down the Khajou bridge with my family and looking down at the river shimmering with lights is one of my favourites. Khajou has been described as “the culminating monument of Persian bridge architecture and one of the most interesting bridges extat ... where the whole has rhythm and dignity and combines in the happiest consistency, utility, beauty, and recreation.” by Upham Pope and Jean Chardin.
